So i been carrying a sog flash 2 and well.. its been okay. I dont like the bladeplay problems it has and i dont like the assisted mechanism. I have been looking for, literally 3 months a spyderco paramilitary 2, and well quite frankly i give up. The price on it is good but the only places ive seen it for sale have been way over priced. So what type of alternatives are there for that like 110 and lower price range. I like my knives around a 3.5 inch blade no bigger then 4 because of state laws. I also do not like lock backs. Other then that i dont particularly have any requirements i just have a itch for something new.

Little harder to clean than a framelock, but I haven't had any problems with my mini grip. The design does a fairly good job of keeping dirt out of the lock mechanism. Axis lock is definitely my favorite, it's addicting.

Benchmade griptilian is a great knife ( I have 3) but I love my
Kershaw junkyard dog 2.2. If you don't mind big and heavy
the ZT 0200 is a whole lotta knife and close to your price range.
Save a few extra bucks and get the 0801. Outstanding carry
knife.

Weight isnt really an issue to me. Maybe if it was like 12 ounces i wouldnt like it but if the weight has a purpose behind it then i dont mind. Some of the cheap knives that weigh a ton just cause of cutting corners i dont like though.

I tend to spend more time playing with my knife then using it. I found somewhere with a para 2 in stock but they want 165 and thats way too much.

If you don't mind something more stout the ZT550 is a rock solid folder. Easy to clean, readily available at around $200.00. Good detent and opens smoothly. I like the S35VN steel, its easy to sharpen and holds an edge well. One of my favorite mid-techs. I have several folders in my rotation and always look forward to carrying it.

Theses are all great recommendations.

I wish spyderco would make the para 2 more available some how. God knows when itll be readily available again. I feel like im just settling if i get something else when thats what i really want.

Kershaw Blur (you can remove the torsion bar to make it a manual)
Kershaw Junkyard Dog 2
Benchmade Griptilian
Spyderco SuperLeaf
Buck Large Vantage Pro
Ontario RAT-1

I think you can score a Contego or Adamas in that price range of your patient. My friend got his Contego for about $115 if I remember correctly. Its 4" and a real workhorse. And Axis locks are great in the mud and dirt, more so than any liner or frame lock that I own. My Mini Grip has the same lock and its packed with dirt right, locks up solid with no play.
