That's right! I don't know about you guys, but this Waki needs a full-on ninja back rig..."mall ninja" snickers be damned!:D

So where are they? Who's made one already? I know there have been murmurings, and I think I heard Mr. Brown is making one...but I haven't seen any pics yet (aside from SilverBullets' amazing Chuddy Bear leather rig, though we still need on-back pics:)). I tried just putting it on my belt and putting the belt on baldric style, but it just doesn't seem to sit quite right, even when playing around with added paracord.

I've got a sheath from Mashed Cat already, so any ideas or how-to's for improvising a back rig with an existing riveted kydex sheath would be particularly welcome . I might try making a mech harness next, see if it works any better.

ETA: And no I don't plan on running around the neighborhood in the dark with the Waki strapped to my back very often; but I can already lash it to a pack, put it on my belt, and improvise a baldric for it...so now all that's left is the ninja back rig :).

ninjas didn't use back rigs.

Hard to draw, dangerous/difficult to resheath.

Haha, I was wondering about that tonight. I could draw it fine, but felt like I would probably cut myself if I had to do it under pressure. And I'd be wide open while drawing. Sheathing without holding the top of the sheath with the other hand was pretty much impossible for me without a mirror... So yeah, I started to think it might be another myth.

Carrying on the hip or in the baldric is the most practical, I'd think. But I still want an over the back rig for kicks :).
