Altered knife?

I am not sure about altered or fake, but I can tell you the sheath is not what originally comes with a knife from RMK. The sheath is made by Sullivan's (the RMK sheath maker) and sold to people so you don't have to use your original/expensive sheath.
The RMK stamp looks a little suspect, but the picture is very poor. It is not a Model 25 blade grind, more like a 15. As well, I don't think the Model 25 ever came with a stag only handle.
