Alternate Blades???

Hello, Just wonering with all of the beautiful damascus blades that have been made......can the same knife have a standard polished bg42 blades made for it?? And are they interchangeble?? Or do they have to be custom fit??
The thought came up because alot of times you do not want to have a damascus blade in light use because of its carbon make up. And it would be nice to be able to carry some of those great unique decorated scales......Anyway just an idea.

You can order a damascus blade for your Sebenza and I assume that if you have a damascus one you could order a bg-42 blade for it. I have a beautiful redwood inlay that I am going to have a spirograph damascus blade put on. But........The waiting list is about a year for the damascus and I'm not sure what the wait would be for a bg-42 one, a quick call to CRK would get that answered for you. Yes the blades have to be specially fit to each knife and the knife will have to be sent in for this to be done. The new blade will be fitted and the old one will be sent back with it. The blades will be interchangeable. I have a small black walnut inlay with black and white ladder damascus that I have been using for a couple weeks. The blade is not stainless and does require a little more care than the bg-42 blade but IMO it is well worth it. The beauty of the blade combined with the inlay is an awesome combination. The colored damascus is for show only as any acid will discolor it. They are stunning but I prefer a blade that I can use.
 
I fitted a BG-42 dark walnut small with a Spiral Damascus blade. Both are fully interchangable and I use my Damascus blade for an EDC work knife. It got dinked by a coin in my pocket, but that was my fault.:(

Nothing serious though:) ! No rust yet either.
 
Hello, Well I got the knife and what a spectacular piece of work it is!!!

Anyway I recieved some information about an alternate blade from Bridget. She said that they are avalible for $110.00 plus the extra charge for the high polish finish. Yes .....just like you told me I have to send which ever knife that I want a extra blade made for back up for custom fitting.
