Alternate sheath materials? (X-post Sheaths & such)

Everyone knows anything about knives most have some sort of sheath or scabbard, and most will know the main materials; Nylon or canvas, Kydex or other hard plastic, leather or sometimes wood. My question is: What else is there? what are the alternate sheath materials that you use/want to use/heard of being used? Prototype pics welcome!

Your original thread was moved for a reason, that being a that the general knives forum is for knives. The Sheathes & Such section is appropriate for what your inquiry is, the folks that post in that section are knowledgeable craftsmen and can provide you with ample real information, rather than speculation.
