Just wondering if there is any chance the RC4 sheath will be available in other colors. I'd love to see OD or foliage to go with the future release of the green canvas handles version. Since it is just kydex it should be fairly simple to do, right?

So Jeff and/or Mike is there any chance of getting OD or foliage kydex for the green handled RC4?

Sorry about that, I missed this thread somehow. Right now, it looks like we're stuck with black on the Kydex. We will see what we can do in the future though.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to keep asking:). We got the green canvas handles and Tony got his OD & orange; so, I figure if I keep asking maybe you'll come up with a sheath in OD or foliage.

I do appreciate how interactive with your customers you are:thumbup:

Learned this today: Colors are available but you have to order a pretty good amount of a color to get a decent price break, so unless we find a cheaper source (and we're looking) then we're stuck with black for the time being. If anyone has a good source for sheets of Kydex in colors then drop us a note.

Thanks,

Jeff

I have a good source. Le me know what you need.

Sending you an email, amigo.

I just got an email from Mike Perrin regarding an OD (or Tan) sheath for ESEE-5.

Sadly, he said only black is available. I considered painting it with krylon but according to this thread it has really long cure times and still doesn't adhere 100%.

I'm perplexed why they offer OD and tan for the ESEE-6 and not the ESEE-5? I'm thoroughly impressed with ESEE's selection of sheaths and their knives but kinda bummed that I can't get an OD kydex sheath for it ( could get an aftermarket kydex sheath I'm not sure it'd be compatible with ESEE's molle backing and pouch.)

So ESEE... we're waiting, any idea when we can get OD/Tan for all these knives. :)

the ESEE 6 comes with an injection molded sheath. raw materials don't cost as much.

you could get aftermarket kydex in most any color available, and have it compatible with the molle backing, you just have to find the right maker. (shotgunner11 has pretty much everything in the esee line)

yeah, i noticed. then i also noticed this was mr. tangent's very first post.

so i figured he's a new guy. the join date confirmed that. the more active registered users don't seem to search all that much, even after Spark opened the function up to 'em.

dude used search and posted in a relevant thread to ask his question instead of opening a new thread with a dozen clones in the first 3 pages...

Yes. I did a search. Instead of making a new one, I thought it more appropriate to respond to one that had already been created regarding this issue.
Excellent choice, welcome to Blade Forums & ESEE..... :)

Thanks! I appreciate the welcome. I am new here, but I'm not exactly new to knives. I've owned a few in my time but nothing serious and nothing of the calibre of the ESEE knives I look forward to buying. Mostly I carry folders like my CRKT one. I look forward to doing bushcraft/camping though and was led to ESEE by way of Gerber LMF-II -> Becker/Ka-Bar BK2/7/9 -> Cold Steel Recon Scout (these were the other contenders I was researching before deciding on ESEE).

I do a LOT of research before buying gear. I've logged weeks of research on youtube alone, I bet! :)

Anyway, thanks and I look forward to being a member.
