Alternate way of powering a forge?

i'd like to see more detailed info about that burner though. the guy is a little vague about how it all works.

Do a search (google or something) on oil drip furnaces. I have a few friends that heat their shops with them in the winter and they do a good job. Its a really economical way to go when you have to change the oil in about 10 different trucks, tractors, and other peices of machinery that each take LOTS of oil. They usually have a tank they keep around for friends to come and get rid of oil from their cars etc. too. Not so economical if you don't have a ready source of oil though.
The burners, are probably about the same, you just vent it into the forge and get rid of the thermostat.

Is there any danger from the fumes produced when burning all the additives and contaminants that may be in the waste oil? This is probably more of a concern when using used motor oil since it could contain quite a coctail of fluids from a car.

The used cooking oil might make your workshop smell like a fast food joint. This may put you off going to MdD's which may or may not be a good thing ;) :D
