alternative ivory..

Hey fellas, im back again fresh from moving into the new house and shop area..what a nightmare..where did i get all that crap, i mean treasure ha ha. Anyway my wifes uncle wants me to make him a knife using the alternative ivory..my question is how do you finish it? regular belts,and paper with a little buffing? Anyway any advice would be appreciated ..thanks

Regular belts, paper, and white buffing compound work fine. Be aware that alternative ivory is very soft, and buffing can degrade it quickly, so buff lightly.
