Alternative Search Function

I don't mean to step on anyone's toes, so I'll understand if this thread gets taken down if it contributes to the problem.

Here is a crude search function in lieu of the one powered by the BB:

Go to:

http://www.google.com/sitesearch/

Enter " http://www.bladeforums.com/forums " as the 'Site URL', and your search criteria under 'Query'.

Yep, that should work. Shorthand for such a search would be:
"site:bladeforums.com/forums <searchterms separated by spaces>"
Prefix terms with + and - for terms that are required resp. unwanted.

Yes. This has been done and there is another way too. Read the Bladeforums service and support sub-forum (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=679). Dont think you will step on any toes and maybe new people can benefit from seeing this thread here in the general section and did not know about it.

That method of searching via Google is pretty shoddy at best. I got tired of it and just subscribed.

I use both Google site searches and paying member searches to find threads. Which I use depends on how much I remember about the thread I am trying to find.
