Alternative to Manix?

I'm carrying Manix LW Maxamet.

But the wire clip seems a little flimsy; I already adjusted screw two times.

I would appreciate suggestions in comparable weight and with nice edge holding ability.

Thank you!

I don't know about the Maximet ( don't have yet ) but I get along better with the Military (super excellent clip about the only one I didn't need to tune) or the Endura 4 I find super useful and fits my hand and my style better than the Manix which I had but no longer. The Endura 4 has a good clip as well no probs.

I will say I get along fine with the wire clips and have a few knives with them.
Not sure what you mean by "adjusting the screw". It should be just tightened down and used that way. If it comes loose use some purple or blue lock tight in that order.

To adjust the spring force on a clip remove it then bend it.

Blue locktite
What he said! I can't believe people never think of loctite first. It's the very first thing I do when I remove a knife from the box. I've never had a clip come loose. Loctite solves a lot of problems kind of like duct tape!

There are tons of after market clips. That and some locktite, you should be good to go

The Spyderco PM2 in maxamet will be out some time this year. great clip on it. a fair amount heavier. may be a bit big in the pocket, but probably comparable to the manix2.

The Manix is the Manix and there is nothing else like it. No other knife combines size and extreme light weight like the Manix LW. Try some locktite on the screws and I am certain that will fix the problem.

BUT, if you just have to have a new light weight knife, get an Endura, perhaps a HAP40 version or a ZDP189 if you want edge retention. I am happy with plain vanilla VG-10.

How about Manix 2 s110 with blurple g10 handle? Also, I feel the wire cllp is one of the best innovations of Spydero (and yes - blue loctite shall take of the business).

If you are not opposed to making a Frankenmanix, there is the old solution of buying a used G10 Manix and swap your blade into that body.

**this often requires the destruction of the LW scales, unless you are good with a drill press.
