I'm looking for a gift for my father's 79th birthday, and would like to find a knife for him. When he carries a knife he usually carries a Victorinox, and he seems to particularly like having scissors and sometimes a corkscrew. I've considered an ALOX or wood scaled SAK, but would really like to find another traditional with some of the features that he likes. Any recommendations?

Get one of those vintage SAKs with the bone scale off of ebay. Give him a piece of history.

You can also have a sak made/customized for him. Check out the knife makers, services offered section. There is a Member that does exactly this, he may even be able to personalize the knife.

Good luck and a Happy Birthday to him!

If you're willing to leave the scissors behind, the horizon expands.
Many European knives (including some Laguioles, for example) have a corkscrew. Personally, I would pick something like this:

If scissors are somehow a priority, then a custom SAK might be what you're after.
Honestly, in the realm of "slipjoints with tools" (especially if you're after scissors) there's not much out there, and Victorinox is your best shot.

I noticed a Case similar to the Böker above in a knife shop display case last week - but I didn't have them pull it out and look at it closely. OH

Only traditional knife I know of with scissors is the Case Peanut. Want to say there was an older U.S. made Schrade pattern with scissors too.

I'm familiar with the Schrade Old Timer 106OT pen knife, I've got this one. It's the same frame size as the old pen size Stockman (108OT). I find the scissors to be a novelty - too hard to get back in without damaging the scissors spring and too small to be of practical use. The Case I saw I should have looked over, it struck me as unusual - don't know why I didn't take a better look. OH
