Cant find them anywgere! And I suck at e-bay. What else is like th AAA and you can actually get your hands on. Help?????

Thanks

Well, there is the CMG (Is now Gerber) Ultra or Sonic. The Ultra is AA, but is easily carried in a pocket, but a tad large for sticking on a keychain. There is also the Inova X1, same thing, good for pocket, bad for keychain.

The Sonic is AAA, although I dont own that particular light so I cant really comment.

That guy does good reviews, and the lights are seperated into catagories. You can also see pics of them, and he normally puts them next to a common light for size comparison.

Dorcy markets its "L.E.D. Light". This is a cheaper alternative. Pros: It is brighter than a regular Arc-aaa; about as bright as the Arc-aaa Premium. It has some form of voltage regulation that maintains brightness. It's only $5.97 at the local Walmart(Eastern Mass.). It twists on like the Arc, and also has a pushbutton for momentary use(similar to a Surefire) Cons: The body is not hard anodized, only painted in metallic colors(blue, red, gold, or silver). It is slightly larger; approx.3 3/8" x 0.75". The key ring, while functional could accidentally twist the light into the "on" mode if attached to keys.
For the low price its not a bad deal especially if you intend on buying in multiples for kits or as gifts. I have several(in addition to 2 Arcs that I own) and have given them as gifts.

Hope this helps;
Mith.

I currently carry a Dorcy AAA LED Light. Its small.. Light.. Bright, and most of all I really could care less if I lose it. At 6.00 per, I can buy 5 of them for each ARC.

Now, I am looking at the CMG Ultra-G. It seems like a nice blend of features for price. I have been waiting for Countycomm to put it back on sale before I buy. Hopefully they will soon.

It really is an untapped market, as far as I am concerned. It would seem as if there is a some room for that "perfect light" to fit somewhere between the Dorcy and the Arc/CMG.

I love the Streamlight Keymates! IMHO they are brighter and in the same size class (Thicker but shorter) and use button cell batteries.

I haven't been able to visit here or Candlepower much lately, so perhaps I'm missing something here... Has Arc gone out of business or something? Arc's website still appears to be up -- have you tried picking up an AAA there?

PS: The Arc AAA is my fave keychain light. I love being able to clip it to my cap or sleeve when necessary. Coating is very durable, too, better than on my Arc LS.

ARC is undergoing lots of changes lately, with the ARC4 production, and the legal battles with M@G are still evident. They are just behind on production, and many people are freaking out for no reason...there is just a lack of production now. I think about a 6week wait at least...

I just sold a NIB Arc AAA for 25.00.
Post that you are looking to buy one over on candlepower.com and I bet you will find someone that will sell you one.

We are talking about the ARC aaa (HA, LED), not the M@G Solitare (incan., annodized alum.). It is very true that M@Gs suck, even more since they filed suit against the circumfrential engraving on the ARCs...grr.... :grumpy:

(Apologize if I was incorrect in my assumption...)

I talked to a dealer that sells alot of top notch stuff online (knives, lights & more) and ARC tried to dump a bunch of crappy 4's on him recently. I think things are catching up with them (ARC), not just competiton, but other factors. Do a search on CPF and you will find the most info on this brand overall. I noticed on the CPF lights for sale board, LS's & other early models were going very cheap. (less than $80.00) That's what I would pick up right now, if size was not a factor.
