i want a big blade that is easy to open with one hand and fits in a pants pocket without bulging out ( thin titanium handle ).

the Aftermath seems to fit the bill, but can somebody explain to me why it costs twice as much as the MAXX ?

also i like the styling of MAXX a lot more ...

are there any other knives similar to the Aftermath that look more ... geometric ?

i'm thinking u should get the MAXX. u seem to like it and it is very good knife.

the Aftermath is more $ because it has the assisted mechanism and carved handles. adds to the cost.

You can't go wrong with either. I carried a Maxx Bowie for a few years and now I EDC an Aftermath. I prefer the recurved blade and the contoured grip on the Aftermath, but those are both a matter of personal preference.

Mikjk is almost certainly right about the reasons for the price difference.
