Alternatives to Fisher refills? Good in flow

Alright... I just got my hands on a hindered pen and mostly happy with it. I'm thinking if I can get a better ink cartridge it may improve my opinion.

The ink flow on the Fisher cartridge is horrible. The lines are inconsistent.

Are there any refills out there the same size that wrote better than a fisher?

I agree, I dislike the blotchy nature of Fisher refills. I have a couple of Benchmade, Hinderer, and other pens and stopped using them due to the cartridges. That and someone at work decided they really liked one of my pens and tried to steal it.

I'm going to order that easy flow and see how it works out.

Fisher is supposed so be good and I'm really disappointed.

The pen is awesome though

Fisher is the machete of pen refills. It's great in rainy, muddy, awful conditions, but I don't want to haul either one to the office every day.

Fisher medium point refills suck. You could try the fine or extra fine point instead. I've had plenty of the former but none of the latter, and the fine points cure the blobbing. Only problem is I've yet to see a B&M carry them, so I have to order them online.

Check out the Schmidt Easy Flow 9000.

Good advice and good choice. I'm sure you'll be very happy with the Schmidt Easy Flows. I tried them for the same reason you are and I've been using them for a couple years in the only two pens that I generally use. I have a Parker Jotter at home and a Boker .50 Cal K.I.D. at work that I use them in. I have no desire to try anything else. Here's wishing you the same results.

The Schmidt easy flow is not interchangeable with fisher refills. I love the cheap fisher cap o matic but hate the ink.
Subscribed to thread.
Edit: after s bit of research it seems it may work in some pens. Lots of variables!

subscribing to this thread as well. I run Schmidt Easyflow 9000 refills in a few pens and LOVE them, but I also love the carry size of my Hinderer Investigator pen.

For a few months now I've been trying to find alternative refills for my Hinderer but haven't been able to find anything that fits. I found and OLD thread where someone said a refill from a Zebra F-701 would fit. I tried but it didn't work :o\

Good point and definitely worth noting. I'll let my photos do the talking but generally speaking, if you currently use the Fisher Space Pen refill without the supplied adapter then you cannot use the Schmidt Easy Flow in that pen. The Schmidt will be too long.

If you're using the Fisher with the adapter then the Schmidt will work also.

Depends on the pen...the fitment issue is the diameter not the length of Schmidt in the fisher pens. This may not be the case in other pens that use fisher refills.
Lots of variables here.

This is very true. I tend to assume pens that take the Fisher refills are actually set up for Parker refills.

I'm ordering both right now and will try them out. I'll report back once i know what works!

Is your pen an Investigator? if so, I will save you the trouble and will tell you right now the Schmidt cartridge will NOT fit.

I got the fine point fisher in the mail yesterday. It flows much better than the old one that was in there. Cured the issue of inconsistent lines.

The Schmidt didn't come in the same box but I know won't fit. I put the adapter on the fisher and it doesn't fit with it on. Someone had already mentioned it, I'm just confirming.
