Alternatives to super glue finishes?

As much as I love the results I get from slopping on gorilla glue cyanoacrylate. The process is a complete nightmare for me to get repeatable results. I always end up getting dull spots that I assume are where the wood is exposed. And if I slop on too much glue the finish becomes uneven and bumpy.

I tried using quicker superglue and it almost comepletely ruined my knife.

Are there any other finishes that can give stablized wood that sexy wet holographic look with less effort or chances to mess up?

Can using a buffing machine get you this look? Or does it still have that dull look , just really shiny?

If you sand and buff most stabilized wood it will shine pretty good. I sand to 1500 and buff. Works good for me. I've used super glue on non stabilized wood.

just do a teak oil finish , let dry for 48 hours then buff with a diamond white compound . With ca glue , you do several lite coats and lite sand between coats , about 5 coats , then buff . It comes out looking like glass .

If you are willing to take the time, Nick Wheeler's method works well on almost all stabilized woods.
Here is a video showing the final steps of his process.
