On Feasting on Asphalt tonight he pulled out a ZT302 to cut some smoked fish!!

previously he had a Cyclone

Glad to see the upgrade, I had my ZT301 in my pocket at the time

Yeah I've seen him use the ZT knife in most of the Feasting on Asphalt episodes.

I think he's gonna end up using every knife Kershaw has available.
I know I would if they were free. :)

I love that show. Gives me places to visit on vacation.

I only half pay attention I know last week he had a cyclone

I've mostly noticed the ZT due to the distinctive tiger stripe blade pattern. In last weeks episode he also used some large fixed blade knife that I didn't recognize.

His shows are great. My one beef is that he says that you should never sharpen your own knives. You should only let a pro do the job.

most of the people who watch the show prolly dont realize what a sharp knife is. heck, they are watching for cooking advice in most cases. i can see why he says it. he doesnt want any fingers taken off by some idiot who cant follow directions and/or get sued for it.

He always says that in reference to the Kai Shun kitchen knives. They have an acute edge that would be destroyed if some clown ground it off on the "knife sharpener" on the back of an electric can opener. He's probably doing the world a favor advising folks to use a "professional" sharpening service so those who need one use one and the rest of us can do our own sharpening anyway.

I always watch his shows, both because of his encyclopedic knowlege of cooking and to get a glimpse of whatever knife he is going to flash. I appreciate the fact that he uses his EDC knives for cooking/food prep on TV - I think it's a powerful statement of support for those of us who do the same.

On Good eats, he was making cowboy chili and whipped out what looked like a leek.

Good on him for using a pocket knife to cook with!

I remember when he was in Austin at Central Market and my Uncle went by
there and got an autographed copy of one of his books for my
birthday.

Yeah, the dude is very informative about everything. When
you explain things out about techniques and so on like
he does you understand better why you should do things
a certain way and why you shouldn't.
If you want it done right, do it right the first time. Right?

I can see myself now watching his show when he's fixing
to cut up something and wondering which Kershaw he's gonna whip out. haha

So much better than BAM BAM da BAM BAM! :D
