Aluminum binding posts for sex/chicago screws

I have found a very nice site specializing in Chicago screws (aka sex screws). These are the types of bolts/nuts that most people use on Kydex/Concealex sheaths. I'm still looking for my 1/8" button/round/pan head Torx screws in the right thread and coating, which I don't think exist based on the amount of searching I've done, but I did stumble across this site. Before I post the contact info I wanted to "price check" it, though. It's been so long since I ordered hardware for sheaths (I got a great deal when I started making custom sheaths 5 years ago and my supply is just now running out!) I don't know what this stuff should cost. Anyway, cost on 100 of the aluminum binding posts is $17 for the 1/8" length, $14 for 1/4" and $16, I think for 3/16" length. They have all sorts of other hardware, as well as stainless steel binding posts, which are about 2x the cost of the Al stuff. Anyway, if this seems like a decent price I'll post the info...

I guess I am confused. Are the prices you listed what the "source" quoted you or what you paid 5 years ago? Are you wanting people to respond that they want the info before you reveal the source? Why not just give the source information and be done with it?

Sex screws ??? I've been to Chicago and there is sex there .....

Sorry for the confusion. These are the manufacturer's current prices, but I didn't want to post the contact info until I found out if they were competitive or not so that someone somwhere along the way doesnt' stumble across this post, order a bunch of stuff and later find out they paid too much, although I guess it's up to the individual to do their own due diligence... I was trying to save someone some trouble down the road, possibly. I checked a couple more places and their prices on the binding posts, at least, seem pretty decent (screws and sets of posts and screws may be a different story). So, the company is Accurate Manufactured Products Group at http://www.accuratemfg.com/.

If you need something that doesn't exist, you might try getting a quote to have someone make them. There is a screw-machine shop around here that I know about through my accountant, I have visited his shop, I think he can make just about anything screw related, you'd have to come up with some sort of blueprint or drawing for a quote but I don't think it has to be professionally done or anything, no clue about pricing though, might be worth a shot, the link is

hope this helps

Cooks, thanks for the link, I'll check it out. The screws I need I know exist. I've seen them, I just can't find them. I can find almost the right thing from Halpern, but longer than I want and not black.

I always buy longer screws. There is a price break depending on which lengths are most common. I buy the long ones for cheaper and then just grind them down to the size i need.

Yeah, I just haven't made a jig for doing this quickly. Once I get my tapper from Higgins that'll be a great project to work on with it (drill/tap holes in steel, harden steel, then thread in screws to the desired depth and grind them flat to the edge of the steel jig). I really haven't even found 8-32 with a Torx button head in any length with a black coating, though, which is confusing because I know they exist. I have been experimenting with flame darkening stainless steel screws but that just leaves kind of a dirty looking gray color which is ugly.
