I’m working on my second slip joint folder. It will have black/blue G10 scales and possibly aluminum liners. Is aluminum a good choice as a liner material? I thought it would add a little flare to the darker scales, but if it’s going to cause issues, I may just forget about adding liners on this one. Thanks

The world's largest manufacturer of slipjoints has made millions of knives with aluminum scales (and no separate liners). I can't think of any obvious reason that you couldn't use aluminum for liners.

I decided to use aluminum to make some liners for a friction folder I'm working on, I think they're a good choice personally, because it won't add a bunch of extra weight, and it seems like it would be a better surface for a washer, or blade to rub against than the handle material (in my case micarta).
