I just ordered a few aluminum match cases from Going Gear for 2.99 each. They look well made & can be used for matches, tinder or whatever. The price is sure right.Do any of you have these,& if so what do you think of them?Google to have a look.Thanks.

Depends on how fast you want it.To Canada the cheapest was something like five bucks for USPS.Fastest is much much more but since I'm heading to the bush till spring,I'm in no rush.

Thanks, now I've discovered a whole new gear website to spend money at. Just what I needed.

Goingear is a cool site. I have one of those matchsafes, and they are really nice. Mine works well. Plus, Stori is a dealer/contributer on BF and I always like to buy "local"

Just wait until you see the stuff I have in the pipeline. :)

Any hints?? ;)

I have a few things from his site. His ferro rods should be illegal. I have used many many fire steels over the years, but these are like a mini volcano. They are the best I have ever used. I was playing with one just last night and a big glob of molten fire sat on a wooden board and burned for a long time so I started to time them. The longest burned a bright read for almost ten seconds.

The match case is pretty nice to. I really like it and for the price, you are crazy not to have a few of them stashed around in kits.

I ordered a dozen from another vendor (cheaper by the dozen). Found two of the O-rings broken. Easy to find replacements at the local hardware store. Too short inside to hold full-sized strike-anywhere matches unless you trim the matches some. Seem well made enough -- well worth the price and truly waterproof. They were then advertsed as machined from a single piece of aluminum when, in fact, the bottom is pressed on the tubular body.

Nice site.
