Aluminum Ti-lite's

I liked my Zytel model better. Not only did it provide better grip, but it also looked better.

i have had 2 aluminum ones. The first was one of my favorite knives, but i broke the tip off being stupid and prying. the second one never had a good lock up, but i am sure that cold steel would have replaced it if ever i sent it back.. i still have it, but doesn't get used. Very very good knife all around.

I also have a ti-lite zytel and i dont think there would be a purpose for purchasing this knife made from aluminum. unless you want to collect cs knives

I own the aluminum model and like it just fine. It's very solid in the hand and locks up well. However, I should inform you that after playing with it for about a week the lockup developed a slight amount of play due to the fact that ball bearing detent was hitting the opposite liner and preventing the lock from fully engaging the tang. Overly aggressive grind on the blade tang, imo. Fortunately, the solution was easy - drilled a small hole into the opposing liner ( it was easy to make a mark with the ball bearing to see where the hole needed to be drilled) for the ball bearing to sit inside while the knife was in the open position. Other than that small issue, solid knife.

They're not too bad as letter openers. Don't really see any other use for them - I don't ride around in the back of a Buick with a black shirt and white tie.

I've carried one of the original titanium handled ones for the last six years. It is sharp, light, and fast to deploy. Probably the Zytel version is just as practical but titanium is just cool. IDK about the aluminum version--has the expense of the titanium version w/o the cool factor.

I have the large aluminum Ti-Lite and like it very much. The extra weight gives it a very solid feel and I like that.

I've got the original titanium-handled model, and it's pretty decent. If the aluminum-handled Ti-Lite is anything like it, I'd recommend it heartily.
