Aluminum v Zytel Magna

I have a question, I'm thinking about purchasing a Magna. I find I like the the easy opening on metal handled folders, as well as the solid "kerchunk".

Is the Zytel version of the Magna as "low drag" as the aluminum handle version? I'm drawn to it slight because of the price savings.

Thanks,

I really suggest going with the aluminum it may cost more but the stronger and nicer looking features were ebough for me to pick it

Dear Dave:

For the extra cost you are really getting a state of the art fully machined hand tool in the Aluminum Magna. The Al scales are cold forged, heat treated, then hard coat annodized. Also note the traction grooves are CNC milled in and offer a better grip and improved look over the zytel. All of these processes combined result in the higher price tag for the Al Magna.

The AL Magna is also slightly thinner and ligher than the Zytel because we had to go with thicker/heavier liners on the Zytel Magna to compensate for the lower rigidity on the Zytel scales.

As far as opening action, the Zytel and the Aluminum are about the same. Either way you are getting your money's worth in the Al or Zytel Magna. I do understand that the price point of the Zytel Magna also makes it tough to beat.
