What is the general opinion of Simeon Custom?

Anyone have anything good or bad to say about them? I have been considering the Prodigy.

I have a couple of Simeon Customs (yeti and a goblin), and am quite happy with both. Enough so that I keep an eye on his work and hope for an excuse to snag another.

I found Jamie (maker) pleasant and easy to work with. I felt like I was getting hands on attention from somebody that took pride in both his business and product.

Knives themselves have excellent action (this seems to be a focus of Jamie's and he nails it). I'm also surprised how well the low profile flipper tabs work even without jimping. Blade grinds are complex and interesting. And mine came wicked sharp.

All around, as I mentioned above, I'm a fan.

Thanks for the input. Over the years I have bought; Chris Reeve, Hinderer, Strider (easy haters, I bought them indirectly through consignment) and Spartan.

I recently bought a McNees and A2D. In a way it seems just another titanium frame with a different logo. I'm still interested though. Maybe this be will "the one." Probably only fooling myself. Gotta feed the sickness.

For what it's worth (aka not much), I put his knives in a different bucket than the others you mentioned.

I own CRKs and Hinderer and have handled Spartan and McNees (all great knives). Those feel more "hard use" and overbuilt than Simeon does in my opinion. Simeon lands closer to the refined side of the coin, especially for the blade. Thinner grind. More acute edge. Focused on action and tuning. If I am considering putting my Hinderer in my pocket, the yeti never crosses my mind and vice versa. Even though they share similarities in materials, lock type, etc. The yeti is more akin to an Arno Bernard in approach if you've ever handled one of theirs.

Speaking of, that is another outstanding option if you like CRK but want something between the large and small and on bearings and/or with a flipper. Considering the rest of the ones you mentioned, it may be my first choice even (the Arno Bernard).

Check out the King: LG 😁
