I like to put new covers on small fixed blades (Izulas,Benchmades,etc...). I am by no means a "professional" and do this just for fun. I'm getting too many of them. It's ametur at best and I don't want to make any money, just recover material costs. Can I post these in the fixed blades for sale by individuals or do I need. Knifemaker membership and post there?
Thank you

Typically the way it is supposed to work:
Registered - Can buy whatever
Basic - To trade
Gold/Plat - To sell the items you've bought
Knifemaker/Craftsman - To sell the items you've made or modified
Dealer - To sell items you buy from a manufacturer or wholersaler in order to earn income.

If it is a one time thing, meaning just maybe one time or even twice Gold would probably be okay. But the problem is that we see people say this then show up regularly every week with a "just one more that I came up with or found laying around". Some people definitely take advantage, not all, but we;ve seen enough to see that there is a pattern. Hope that helps

I don't mind buying the knifemaker membership but I would be uncomfortable posting the knives in that area because I really don't consider myself that caliber. Can I buy the knifemaker membership and just put the knives up for sale in the fixed blades by individual forum?
Thanks again
John P

Yes to clarify, if you are modifying a production knife, (something someone else originally made and designed), it would technically get listed in the production section. After all, the modifications, it started life as something else. Some folks don't get the difference between custom and customized.
