Ok so I have my small seb since Christmas, and of course I have been playing with it while watching tv. I noticed yesterday I can FEEL the blade move front to back as in opening closing direction, not side to side. Now I say feel because I cant see it move being that it is ever so slight. When I push the lock over it stops. By the way I can't see the lock moving either just a little push. By the way I did take it apart and oiled it about a month ago, and all is well in that department, thanks in advance, Jake.

If it bothers you send it to the spa! People have send their crk's in for the lockbar moving to far over for their taste and the spa took care of it.

If I understand you, what you are feeling is the detent ball rubbing the blade as you open and close it. Sound right?

I would think that this should smooth out in time.

If it bothers you, contact CRK and see what they recommend. I will say that I don't think it's a defect, just a sign of a strong lockbar applying pressure against the blade tang.

Hopefully others will chime in here.

Please let us know what you decide to do.

I am no knife expert but from you said, I would suggest taking it apart and pushing the lock in a little more so it moves just by a hair in than before. just be cautious not pushing too far. Or else, like other advises, send it to CRK.

Oh, I see, he's saying that there is micro play in the blade after the knife is open and the lock is engaged?

If that's the case, yeah, send it to CRK, they will make it right.

I gotta learn to hold off my replies untill AFTER I've had my coffee.....:foot:

Yes the blade is all the way open. When you hold the blade and push forward and back you FEEL a little movement. Then if you push the bar over and release it, and then try and move the balde it doesn't happen. I hope that this describes it better. Thanks again for your time, Jake.

Where does the Lock Bar stop when open? That is what % of travel?
But it appears the, Lock Bar is not bent far enough in, as alejandro said.

I called Cris Reeves and spoke to Chris himself. What I can say is, he is very concerned about his customers, very nice man. Chris described exactly what alejandrino suggested. I did that and now it’s fine. Thanks for all your suggestions. By the way now the bar covers about 75% of the blade.

Good, glad it worked out fine. I was just afraid bending it too far might break the locking bar which is why I asked you to be careful bending it..

That's another thing I like about CRK, you don't void a warranty every time you disassemble your knife.

Glad you got it straightened out. :)
