Am I covered?

Tactical does not always imply practical, but practicality is a "must" in my book. So, I have a few folders in different sizes that cover a variety of life's daily possibilities--some extraordinary cutters, others tremendous all rounders--and in a variety of sizes. Some production, some custom, all (IMHO) amongst the best of the best. Have I got all my bases covered? Am I missing anything?

jigged, you're right . that IS a great start. :)

Very nice knives. If you're asking about what else one thinks you need, I'd say 1-2 FBs & a slip-joint wouldn't hurt.

Personally, while I have around 50 knives at any one time (Give or take 10-20), I only probably use about 1/2 dozen of them.

I carry/use 1-3 "tactical" folders, 2 different slippies, & 1-3 different FBs.

Of yours, I'd probably be bouncing between the Swamp Rat folder for a lg. folder & between the Caly 3 & 3" XM-18.

wheres the sodbuster, stockman, peanut, trapper, barlow...... ?:D

These are just the tactically oriented folders I have. I do have two Vics, a Bailey Bradshaw popcorn stag single blade pocket knife (sort of a slipjoint except for the Sawby self-lock on it), and a CH Morris gentleman's pocket knife with white-lip pearl. I also have a well-loved Benchmade auto that I forgot to include in this pic.

RAT Izula. A fixed blade is always more reliable in tough tasks than a folder.

I agree. I try to keep two EDCs with me in my work area. I don't really need two, but I just can't decide which one if only I could have one. For awhile now, I have kept a custom Busse Active Duty with me and a Lin Rhea hunter with stag handles. I LOVE them both.

The Rat Trap has seen little use, but I love it! There is actually one on the X right now for what I consider to be an excellent price. If I did not already have mine, I would have long since bought that one. Of course, one thing you get with the Swamp Rat is an unreal warranty--basically no questions asked repair/replacement/ or credit in the amount of original purchase price if it can't be repaired or replaced. The model has long since been discontinued, but I would not be surprised if Swamp Rat had a few of them sitting around for just such a warranty issue. Understandably, that warranty does not often get used by folks that have Swamp Rat knives because the knives are pretty tough to begin with.

If I were you and you can swing the coin, I would get the Rat Trap on the X. BTW, I do not know the seller and don't think I've ever actually dealt with him in a deal, but the knife is simply that good. If you don't like it, turn around and sell it for $10 less than what you bought it for and at least you got to play with one for awhile.
