I worked as Vector Arms machinist for years and have collected some sweet UZI's, AK's, custom guns ect.. in the last year or so I have started longing for a battle mistress so bad that now Im thinking of selling a beautiful cherry custom UZI to get a battle mistress.... but part of me is like "your gonna exchange a $1400 custom uzi for a knife??" yet its not just any knife its a BM.
should I be talking myself into or out of this decision??

If you have a few UZI's then sure, go ahead and sell one and get yourself a BM, perhaps even a couple variants of it like a FBM and a SHBM. If the UZI is very important to you then don't sell it if you will regret doing so; only you know what's best for you so other peoples opinions are irrelevant. The battle mistress is a really amazing knife, and I will always have at least one on hand. I also like guns though. :)

I don't think I'd sell my SHBM or FBM LE for $1400, so I can't say you're crazy. But there are lots of varieties you could get for considerably less. Like a SHBM or a FBM LE, for instance. Just not mine.

is $900 to much for a nmfbm with g10 grips? (unused new condition)

I sold a couple FBMs with G10 for $750 and $820 a few months ago. At first I thought the prices might be a little too high, but they sold pretty quickly. The NMFBM is bigger, but also more recent and, in my opinion, less awesome, so I don't know whether they should go for more or less. You should be able to get a pretty good idea of the going rate by searching the exchange.

Contact Jerry and Garth, maybe they will do some trading with you (Garth has a FFL) I heard they like guns and love to trade INFI for Iron :D

The Jones can make you do crazy things - I know.

Perhaps sell off one of your bang sticks locally and then use [some of] the money to get the blade of choice. UZis are sweet and really good ones are very hard to come by. My dream fun gun would be an authentic AUG :D:thumbup:

Of course you could make us all drool (and perhaps see what comes out of the woodwork) by posting a few pics of your toys :)

A custom UZI should be worth several ASHBMs. The Shop is still offering them (ASHBMs) for: CG - $487 + s/h; LE - $697 + s/h. 4 to 14 week wait but you'll never pay less for a new one barring another national/world financial meltdown.

That's a fine Idea David... I might try that If I can work up to letting it go..

900 is right where you should be on a brand new NMFBM .28" thick blade. It's what my uncoated one cost from knobb Creek this year.

I'd take David browns advise if I were you dude...... Win win.

Iron for INFI program. And NO you are not crazy.....I sold a G34 Race Gun I built just to get a Busse I was drooling over and dont regret it a bit.

I wouldn't sell it personally to fund a Battle Mistress, you can get a Scrap Yard 911 or 1111 w/ quality sheath for just over $200. These are essentially just a Battle Mistress w/ a super tough rubber handle, I know it's not as flashy but you'd be hard pressed to tell much difference between the two in real world uses.

In fact, I find the mass distribution to be superior on the Res-c handled Busse/Kin compared to the full tang designs. This equates to improved handling characteristics and increased chopping abilities given equal mass.

Maybe save up a little bit and just buy one of these without getting rid of the Uzi…. :)

you guys are right, im just gonna work the corner an save my $ for a BM.. I was wondering though, where could I pick up a scrapper 1111... can anyone point me in the right direction?
