I've been EDCing my mini grip for a week now and it recently got the CRKT Drifter frame lock and I'm more happy with the drifter that I got for half the price of the mini grip. I'm i crazy?

Nope, not at all. The Drifter is a good knife. I like it so much I nabbed the G10 version for work as well.

I've spent quite a bit on finding that one blade to edc and after trying the Delica 4 FFG, KaBar dozier, tenacious and mini grip, from some reason the Drifter just gets it right for me. I'm so tempted to go back and snag me another drifter but I dunno if I can justify spending more cash :P

Trust me on this, but if you're here asking us knife questions, the answer is a resounding yes!

Welcome, stranger! :)

Sane guys are not alllowed on Bladeforums, mate.

The Griptilian might have a better blade steel than the Drifter, but it makes complete sense for you to prefer one knife over the other based on other reasons. It happens to me with my Protech Integrity and my Sebenza, I just use the Integrity a lot more although the Sebenza has better fit and finish and cost much more.

You're crazy as an outhouse rat, just like the rest of us.;) The good news is that your preference for the Drifter over the Grip isn't an indicator of your degree of craziness, it's just that there are certain aspects of the Drifter that better suit your needs or tastes.

you are proof that you don't need a sebenza or more expensive knife to be happy.

I find sometimes a less expensive knife can make you happier than a more expensive one. But that is usually because I don't mind using the less expensive one more often.

For the record, if you like one knife more than another AND it's cheaper, you're not crazy - you're lucky!

Ha ha you're right, I wished I had gotten one earlier, would've saved a lot of time and money, my friends thinks I'm a bit weird for my folder collection :B

Not at all. I keep a grip in my car's emergency kit. I never use it. That said if SHTF I want something in my car that can take some abuse. I've pried with the grip the axis lock is awesome. But whenever I go hiking and need a folder. I carry the Drifter 3 out of 4 times. It's a really nice size for just basic cutting duties. Ever since I reprofiled the blade and flattened the recurve I love it even more.
