The barrel rod is not there where it should be. Look on the second last pic! So I ask the guy I got it from he said It is real. But I don't trusted him! Thx you. :]

What's a barrel rod? All pictures I'm looking at from a dealer shows no discrepancies to what you've got.

Looks just like mine, who ever had it probably took the lanyard tube/barrel rod out. It does look better without it. Come to think of it I'm gonna take mine out. Thanks for the insight!!!!

I've seen good fakes. Watch ebay. Most appeared to have a sandblasted lockside and carbon fiber scales, but the cnc looked spot on.

It's the real deal man no fake is that good. Not sure what makes you think it's a fake.
Actually, some of the counterfeit Southard folders are that good, and they are very close to the real deal. They've fooled a lot of people in fact. Is this one real or counterfeit? Hard to say, it mostly depends on where it was purchased.

A well made counterfeit is virtually indistinguishable from the real deal. And I'm not just talking about Southards here. As RD alluded to, the only way to be ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN you're buying the genuine article is to purchase it from an authorized dealer.

Caveat emptor!
