I thought I saw a forumite name of knife lady. If there is another lady on this forum you can bet that I, and several others are glad of that. It seems when there is one of the girls on the forum and may show up at any time, we all seem to maintain our cools just a bit more thatn the rest of the time. I know that before I knew that youngwood and Mamav were on the forum I once in a while got just a bit roudy. Or should I say uncouth.

If I have not been proper, Please feel welcomed to the Cantina.:)

No way you are too old Pappy. IIRC you turn 67 just a few days after I turned 66. You can still teach alot of the young folks some stuff, don't know about me, tho, I'm still learning. :)

Pappy, I treat just about everyone like they're in the prime of life, whatever that is.

A good point is a good point, and if I remember it ( or forget it ) it has nothing to do with the age of the guy that told me.

I'll try not to change. I sure am glad that I'm not too old to learn some thing new. My wife feels the same way. when we get to the point that we are not learning any more it is time to cash it in.
This is why some of my neighbors don't know what to think. I may be visiting with a very young man or a older one than I am. The way I see it. Why hang with some dude that is dumber than I am. He's no going to teach me a darn thing.

OK now you can tell me I'm crazy.:) :D

You're crazy. :)

Everyone adds their fruits and nuttiness to this trail mix of people here. It wouldn't be the same without you. Besides, what else would you do with your evenings. ;)

The secret to perpetual youth is continually learning something new. I'm looking forward to learning A LOT from everyone here. Probably not just about knives...seems to be a lot of experience packed into this group. Not to mention a liberal sprinkling of lunacy...
:D

...geeeeeez Pappy, what's age 'gotta do with anything? Your a respected member of the HI family. I mean look at this guy (midway down the page) in the link from Beo's thread. He's doing his thing and SOMEBODY must be be enjoying it? Relax and please continue to be who you are and who we all enjoy :)

Pappy, you're just great like you are. I think everyone needs people older, younger and the same age so we are always learning, teaching and sharing. And of course we all need the cantina for a healthy dose of insanity to make sure we don't get too boring and pessimistic:D  ;)

Pappy,
You & Semper Fi are just "kids"!Ahhh, would say more, but I'm ahhh,in the process of getting a sheath! You are just fine!
THE SAINT!

Pap, I for one am proud to have you here. Just wish all of us here at the cantina werent' strung out all over the world so that we could meet.

Steve

You're kidding, right? It's people like you that give this group the interest and observations that make this the best Forum around. For what it's worth, I didn't start collecting or studying kukris till after I was in my 50s. We never stop learning and sharing that knowledge is a little happy payback for sticking around year after year.

Agree 100% with JDP. Age has its setbacks, but it also has its compensations, and there's always a need for wisdom and experience. Besides, in our wired world, age is no longer the physical and social barrier it used to be...

And when we're all brains floating in digitally interconnected glass jars, it'll matter even less! :D

Was it someone in the Cantina that said "Old is always 10 years older than I am"?

Perhaps, we should get a group bulk order going for Grecian formula.

Include me out--I think I'd look funnier than usual if the top of my head was smooth, shiny, AND darker than the rest of my skin.

"Am I getting too old to be here:"

Pappy you Belong here just as everyone else that comes and stays.
Like you said before, sort of, "It would be a lonely place at night without the forum.":)
I think we're drawn here by an unknown force in the Universe, find kindred spirits and then stuck for life.:D

Besides you haven't posted anything near as rough as that squirrel I posted a while back. :p :D

Pappy:

Any time you are feeling old, check out the average age of the President's Top 100 (bullseye pistol) at Camp Perry. By their standards you are just reaching puberty.
