Alright, where the hell have I been, here's a knife that's affordable, available, well thought of and well thought out.

How is it possible I've missed these, have I been in a vacuum?

Rat knives look to be the replacement for my EK Combat Bowie as my Heavy Duty Outdoor knife.

I gotta read some more threads on the RC3 and a few others to start me out.

I have enough vices, curse you guys if this becomes an addiction, that's all I gotta say. :)

Start cussing now. RAT Cutlery knives are well liked for good reason as you will see when you hold your first one. I guess all I have to say is Welcome to the sickness.

After 4 RAT knives, all I can say is thank God they dont make the RC 6 in Orange slabs. I would be in trouble...

My advice is start practicing cussing in as many languages as you can, your gonna need it with RAT knives, they multiply :)

Alright, lets see, reasons to tell the wife why I need another knife, (I could use a little help in this area guys/gals:

1) I don't have one of these yet

2) It's better than the other ones

how about you trade into one? then you can say 1. you didn't buy it. 2. it's not new 3. it is better then the one you traded for or you could buy her something sweet when you buy it for yourself and she prob won't even notice that you bought it and if she does notice she may not even care:D

too much time in whine and cheese. Eks are sick knives and I'd never beat one in the field-mine remains in its sheath until the dark day I have to use it in self defense. It's a fighting knife, not a beater. And it will become an addiction. Not for the collector's value of them but because they freakin' work.

RAT's are made to be used !!!!! If you want a mantle piece knife get another brand. Plus, you CANNOT beat the warranty. You use it, break it, then you get a replacement free. You will have to really work to break one unless you do stupid crap with it.

Might as well go ahead and put a mason jar on the kitchen counter now and start the "cuss fund".. it'll quickly grow and mature and someday soon it will pay for the next RAT. Wow, that could become self sustaining. sort of like the same process that fires the Sun.

Now THAT is a great idea, I'll have to do this.... hell, with the way things have been going this last year, I'll own every RAT product by thanksgiving :D

Better yet, I will have the WIFE add to the fund everything she cusses me about wanting another RC Blade! Heck, I should have the HEST and RC-6 before halloween! :) :)

What you should do is bookmark a page that has some gorgeous (but expensive) knives from the late great Bill Moran. Show them to your wife everyday for 3 weeks and say "I would really really like to have one of these here Moran knives sweetie. I do believe I will order one someday. My they are expensive, aren't they?"

Then one day, after you have said the above everyday for 3 weeks, you casually say "Oh sweetie pie, I ordered a knife today." Just as she is about to explode from a combination of rage, shock, and the thought of thousands of dollars draining from the checking account, you say "But it only cost about 100 bucks! What a deal!" She will be so relieved that she will probably buy you a "Husband of the Year" t-shirt right then and there.

Optional: You may also have to buy her a pink Izula and/or some new shoes to assuage her wrath.

Or...

You could just say "Look here sweetie, I am buying between 1 and 100 of these here RAT knives and you are going to like it!"

Try either plan at your own risk. :D

:D welcome about time you showed up Geez u been hiding in the other forums having u ...
a Good first RC is the RC3 or RC4 and you can go from there.... for me the RC6 is my Favorite but again I own all of them :p

I started a jar, it's got $5 in it to start me off, I like the looks and price of the Izula but I think I'm gonna save my pennies for an RC-3 to start.
