Am I OCD or do I just love playing with knives.

Took the Micarta off and went Moose Style with the Grivory. I actually like it better.

Here is where the OCD kicks in.

I've done this to my ESEE 5 and 6. Much easier to control the rasp on Micarta. You have got to
go very slowly and take baby steps.

The finished product. I opted not to put a groove through the middle nut like I did on my ESEE's.
More for cosmetics than anything else.

Unlike Micarta, you only have so deep you can go on these.

Now on to the sheath. I took out the Hook part of the Velcro on the inside. Left the loop.
That way I can slide my belt through.

I also took off the elastic that smushed the pouch. Makes it easier
to remove and replace items.

Since I'm not jumping out of planes, I don't see the need for two retention
snaps. So, now I have one.

Now if I could just get my 7's in stock. I'll have a new toy to play with. I think I've done all I can with this BK2.

Nice job, I like the mods to the knife and the sheath. Also, is that one of the sheaths that you will have in stock?

Looks sleek, Tom! What kind of vice are you using to hold the knife?

This is an ESEE-5 sheath like the one Moose had in his post about how to not cut your arm off when working in the woods with a BK-2. I'll be getting Spec-Ops sheaths in stock. As soon as I do, I'll post a side by side photo.

I'm using a 4 1/2" Columbial bench vise with a Hargrave wood clamp in it to hold the material I am working on in a horizontal fashion.

you can keep going! you can drill a hole for arrow making, and a saw back, and of course, full length serrations. let's not forget as well a laser sight :)

WOW, that's scary, those are the exact same mods to the sheath that I was going to make. I wanted to work with it for a while, and see what I like and didn't like before the changes. I already too the retention strap off the pouch, those things have to go, to get any room in there for my para.

Thanks TAG, now I gotta find my thread ripper, I think I left it my sewing kit.

Sewing kit. Cute.

you haven't done all you can with that bk-2...you need to go outside, hike with it and process wood :o
