We were discussing our funeral plans in the event that something happened. I started thinking about telling her which knife to bury me with. Is this going too far? Do I need to go to knifeaholics anonymous?

Yes, you are crazy. Very crazy.

A sane person would want to be buried with his entire collection, not a single knife!

I have people who are waiting to inherit. I like the idea of my grandsons handing my knives down through the generations but I need to take one with me I think.

I'm going to be cremated after ( hopefully AFTER  ) I die, so it doesn't matter if I want to take one of my knives with me, but if I could it would be my stainless Cold Steel Trailmaster Bowie, as it'll take quite a bit of knife, to fight-off the devil with.:D.:D.

What if they have a no knife policy in heaven? Anybody gonna say "no thanks I will go elsewhere"?:D

I wanna be buried with a big heavy chopper of a knife and a cell phone, just in case they made a mistake!

It's funny, I have talked this over with family members, yes I will be buried with one of my blades in hand.

This reminds me of a well known Busse advert from a few years ago. Maybe someone here remembers it. A skeleton in a coffin holding onto a few knives with a caption that I can't quite remember 100%, but it was something to the effect of Busse knives being tough enough for this lifetime and the next, or that they're good enough to take with you.

I can understand redhawk's point of view very well and to some extent I can agree with his feelings.

But at the end of the day when you're dead you're dead. Put me in a simple wooden box and drop me in the hole.

Buh bye, end of story.:)

You cannot take anything with you so being burried with "things" will get you nowhere. It's also a waste of the "things".

My family has no trouble getting into Valhalla when we die, and we're not Vikings, and we don't get buried with any blades, either.

(Cemetary's in Valhalla, NY. :) )

I could never decide which one to "take along", and they definitely all won't fit. So I want them melted into a block and tossed in the ocean. If I can't have them...

I think its normal to want to be buried with something, my father wants to be buried with his Remington 700 classic which he has had since he was 18. I will want to be buried with my Winchester Featherweight and my sebenza and strider. That is the way of things.

Maybe I will ask to be buried with a knife stuck in my chest, so that a future civilization will discover my remains and create interesting theories about my murder. . .

Then again, I doubt that there would be much left of me, since I plan to specify a homemade cheap pine box for my remains, maybe I will build it myself!

I figure that with time we'll all probably end up being dug up and reinterred as real estate goes up in value. I have thought about what knife I'd like to have when they dig me up. I was thinking of something all-stainless with a good alloy. Maybe something like a simple Camillus EDC or a Benchmade Monochrome.

I have nine nieces and nephews, one child of my own on the way, as well as four brothers and sisters. Hopefully by the time I go there will be grandkids, grandniece/nephews and even great-grands of every sort. One knife each to remember me by should take care of the collection.

I inheireted my grandfathers` knife collections...I don't think your desire is inherently crazy, but being that I'll be dead, I figure I won't mind if a knife doesn't accompany me. Better someone abuse it then it just lie with me and rust.
