Am I shallow?

I bought a Southard and didn't really like it all that much. Every time I looked at it I kept thinking how nasty that brown was. I did a black RIT dye job on the scale and stop and now I'm really liking the appearance of this thing. I always liked the blade, just not the looks. I might have to get some carbon fiber for it though. I'm supposed to be getting a new clip which will also be a huge improvement.

I love brown scales... That being said, I don't think they do the Southard justice (I'd love to see more brighter colors on G10 Spyderco models)

I like the brown on the Southard. If I'm swapping mine it will be for CF or antique ivory linen micarta. Probably the latter..

Well then, I guess I'm also shallow :p Thats the first thing I did was dye the scales dark blue, thinking back I should have done it in crimson.

I owned a Southard briefly but returned it due to a bent tip/improper grind. Purchased it just after my Tuff (which I absolutely LOVE). I could've purchased another but, in all honestly, I just didn't like it enough to own. I guess that means I have poor taste (according to a post above), but I can live with that. It was too small for my hands, had an ugly scale (in my opinion) and an odd (even if effective) blade shape.

The brown G10 isn't my favorite color, but I like the Southard well enough to overlook it.

Black is good

Brown and Foliage Green is my favorite G10's.
We all like different things and it sure doesn't make you shallow because you prefer black.

Not shallow, well, if you are then what does this make me? lol

I just traded mine. I know its a great knife, superb F&F, functional..etc.
I just couldn't stand the site of it. Reminds me of a Wizards finger pointing in blame.
I know, issues...
Cheers

im one of those camo "dorks" :D, so i'd love to see one with some digi camo skin

Nah, it's not shallow to have a preference about how you like your knife to look.

I happen to be a sucker for the black blade, black G10 thing... a lot of people can't stand that combo, but I think it's sleek

Your fine besides I don't like the term shallow, I prefer to say that I am selectively deep
