6 hours Later…

Lots of Decarb under the scales, be prepared to put some muscle on

Second , lots of sanding on the blade. 400, 600, 1000, etc. etc.

And pain, lol

Also hand sanded the scales
And then you’re done

Am I correct in assuming that you left the handle scales on and just stripped around them? One would be justified in thinking you removed them as it looks so clean around the edges that I see no hint of leftover coating.

Thanks bro! Yes you are correct that I left the scales on. Just time and patience.
This flathead weighs 27 pounds and is still kicking in a small pond in the central Ozarks
