Was thinking about a carry knife I want to order in the near future.

Sway backed 2 bladed jack in stag.
Wharncliff main blade.
Coping blade with spring extension.

Part of me says, "you've lost your mind" and the other part says "why not put you two favorite blade types in a whittling swayback".

I think the hard part will be finding someone who will take on this fool's idea.;)

I dunno, Gus.

You'd have two straight edged blades and nothing with any belly for whittling when you need a curved blade ( to avoid the point digging in).

I think it'd be hard to beat the wharncliffe/pen combination for the various type cuts whittling requires. (Or a sheepfoot/pen, but you get my drift.)

Gus I don't think you're wacked at all,I was just talking with culpeppj the other day about how I thought a jack with a small coping blade would be real good.Got that main blade for regular pocketknife stuff & the smaller coping as a "tuffer" blade

...or along these lines? Don't know 'bout whittlin', but it's my #1 edc. 3.5" cl.

Hmmmm... I've been thinking of getting a Wharncliffe Whittler with pen blade, hawksbill blade and punch/awl made for when I graduate Massage Therapy school in 2 years, then you bring out this idea. Naw- you are not too wacked out. Maybe pass on if you get somebody to take your idea.

In a swayback jack, swappin' the standard pen blade out for a coping blade is a no brainer. The tang and basic size is similar. Blues thought is a good one...I don't know that this should stop you from wanting it. :)

mmmmm....for the carvers out there I would think this would just about cover all the bases...

Called the "Carvin Jack" they are available for right or left handed whittlers.

Gus,

Of course your wacked. I would think the guy who took a fixed blade knife and sawed it in half and folded it felt the same way and look where that got us. I think it would make a great knife design.
