Amalgam - 2 versions? LAI vs no LAI

I have seen two different Amalgams, one with the letters LAI under the logo and one without, ie: just the logo.
Is there a difference and should I be concerned of fakes?

Spyderco.com has it without and bladehq has it with, so it looks like both versions have existed and are real

Wife got me the Blade HQ version just so she could tell me-- "Now you can't say you never get LAI'd anymore since we got married"

Yes. That’s what I found too.
kind of odd. I’m gonna reach out to spyderco with same question.

FWIW, mine has "LAI" etched on the blade below the logo. Don't remember where or from whom I bought it.
