Amalgam / Smock dates

I 2nd that sentiment. I have money earmarked for both! I suspect we will see them in the fall...
 
It is a credit to Spyderco that at any given time there are ravenous fans awaiting the arrival of an upcoming blade. I can't remember the last time there wasn't a Spyderco in the works that I wanted!

I think the smock is my first preorder ever, also. I was not struck by it and then I handled it st the Oregon show. Preordered immediately. This one is going to be popular I think. Really fun little knife. The whole table of Spyderco just wowed me.
 
I suspect the Amalgam may be "the" knife for me. There are some that are close, and the PM2 is closest, but the Amalgam, with a flipper and more secure finger guard, bearings and a sturdier tip, along with the comp lock, checks all my boxes. Hope to eventually see it in some other steels and handle scales.

I like it a lot, too. I am have a little trepidation about the flipping action, though. My experience with Spyderco flipper so far is mediocre.

I agree. The Sliverax was one I looked forward to, but the detent was too weak for my taste. Hopefully the Amalgam is stronger.
 
I saw this thread and was hoping someone had a date. The Smock is my first preorder too. Hoping its before the fall.
