Hey guys, what can you tell me about this knife? How many versions are there, specs, pics, whatever you can tell me would be great. I really like this one! Just sent an email to HI to inquire about getting one. Have not heard back just yet. Thanks!

I really like the ASTK. It has a slender profile, similar to a sirupate or gelbu special, but is built like a dedicated chopper in its spine thickness. The ASTK has the most substantial tang out of any khuk I've seen because it doesn't taper in the tang as much as the other models. As far as I know, the only two variations of the ASTK are the chiruwa and non-chiruwa type. Of course, as with any other HI models, there will be minor differences beetween each individual piece because each is hand made.

The ASTK was a popular model for kamis to pump out about two years ago, but they have been pretty scarce as of late. (Everything happens in cycles!) They're highly regarded as one of the best field models one can get, probably because of the balance between being overbuilt and graceful at the same time.

Could not have said it better myself:) I got a 15" model a couple of years ago, and it I'm going out in the wilds, it's the khuk i tend to take. It's a beast!

It's my favorite, although I need one that's a little bit lighter than the full-tang one that I have right now. Kinda waiting for a new DOTD to pop up that I like the looks of, although it's gonna be hard to keep up with the sharks around here.

At times i thought about a tapered tang on Mr.Singh to make the weight shifting more forward. By doing so i might just destroy a classic. It's my 1st big boy at 18".

ASTK by itself allows so many customization:
Tear-dropped fuller with tapered tang, at 15-16". Whollotta sweetness.

And a Singh Siru version too! :))

Cleaned it tonight, and remembered a good time we had when making it. Lots of fun.

Check your FB wall...

Bad news guys- The great white spotted at the coast of HCM city.
Good news guys- Hung is back!

Euroross,

This is some girly talk between 2 good friends.
In short: Hung got some trouble with the custom before so he decided to forge his own.
He made a hybrid of Sirupate and ASTK (there's a thread about it) and we named it Siru Singh.

What kind of chum will you feed to a shark that kept at bay for too long?

HI should start replacing the Karda and Chakmak with a set of screwdrivers, then you can write multi-tool on the customs form!

Bill,

You name it; multi tool, camp tool, camp gear, gardening tools, i even have one lame idea of golf accessories for the likes of Tarwar...
Quite simply we have lurkers here who are actually custom officers, who knows? hehe...

oh well. The khuk will be yours if it decided to.I've been worrying too much it's eating inside me sometimes.

The Kamis and shop has been busy with special order and online store customers.
I will put the Kamis to work on ASTK within this month.
Thank you for your patience
