Had an idea to make a slim sheath for my new Penknife-without the karda & chakma. Here's the begining, 2 pieces of basswood hollowed out to fit the blade and glued together. It's a start...

Nice start.

What kind of leather are you going to use for cover?

I made one from Maple, just slab sides and inserts to get the clearence on the sides. I like it myself.

Projects are fun!
 
Let me know how it goes. THinking this other one here will be rehandled in bocote, after I finish the red heart one, and this villager. But if so, that then means I need to strip off the sheath and change it too, most likely, as I think a nie brown sheath would look better with the bocote than the black will. I need to stop giving myself more work. :)
