As this year draws to a close many of us will spend time reflecting on the highs and lows that 2016 has brought our way. For me and my family it has been a trying year and simultaneously extremely rewarding year both in business and family. I know that many of our significant others may roll their eyes when we start talking about knives or something we read or saw on this forum but BladeForums has been a huge outlet for me, a way to escape and relax but also to connect with all of the extremely knowledgeable folks on here. I had visited the site in the past but rediscovered it so to speak when I started looking around for a specific knife: the Northwoods Indian River Jack. My membership has lead to some excellent conversations, generosity, and a few great additions to my personal collection, but I still hadnt found the knife that brought me to the porch in the first place.
That is until today. Last week I was contacted by Jbverv about a blue camel bone IRJ and I thought finally I had found the knife I was looking for, only to be blindsided by even more generosity. Jbverv was going to GIFT me the knife, the one I had been looking for pretty much all year. When I received this beautiful, mint condition knife this afternoon I was further dumbfounded to find that my new IRJ came with a GEC #15 Boys Knife in burnt orange jig bone.
I dont know where everyone stands with faith, but my faith in people and random acts of kindness has truly been elevated by the thoughtfulness and generosity I have found on this forum. To Jbverv and the BladeForums community: I am so grateful for the altruism directed toward me, and it will not stop with me. I will pay it forward many times over. What a wonderful way to end the year, Merry Christmas!
