Greetings to all:
The following is a true story as seen in a documentary on the History Channel.

I am sure most of you have seen the movie "Alive", and no matter how you recieve the story, it is one that astonishes me. I will never forget the pure human spirit and strength shown by all 16 survivors. It starts with a plane of 45 people and a pilot who I would not trust flying my remote controlled plane. After flying into the Mountain range, and not knowing where they were, he proceeds to hit a mountain top splitting the plane into two pieces. 30 of the 45 people survive the initial impact, but due to infection, starvation, and 30 degrees below zero temperatures, roughly another ten die within a day or two. After a few weeks of eating the dead (They never killed, only ate those who have already died), a severe avalanche hits the plane and puts several feet of snow on top of them, killing quite a few more.

After about another month, three decide to ascend the mountain top to see where the nearest civilization is, and after gazing into the horizon at all directions, they see that no civilization is in sight. One decides to go back to the plane and two others decide to climb until they either find help or die.

They took only three days of meat rations with them, no shelter (and no shelters were ever built throughout their trek), knives made from plane scrap, and lots of fortitude. The two men, after 10 days of mountaineering, finally found savior near a river. They hiked 40 miles with close to NO supplies. Neither have ever even climbed a mountain before. With much gumption, they were able to get into a helicopter and go right back to the plane to help the pilots find them others. THEY WERE OUT THERE FOR A TOTAL OF 71 DAYS WITHOUT ANY FOOD, WATER, OR SUPPLIES.

Thinking outside of the box, doing what must be done at all times, and having a positive atitude at ALL times is the key to their surivial.

Do you have what it takes to have survived this? Are you enough of a team player to know when to lead and when to follow? Can you stare death in the face every day for 2.5 months? Can you be in a crashed plane and see opportunity? TAKE THIS STORY WITH YOU WHEN YOU TREK OUT.
