The Specs:17.5 inch 22 ounce Cherokee Rose by Kumar. Satisal wood handle. $125

All I can say is my wish was granted when I asked for a single sided guard and bowie blade, couple that to the fact that no one scooped this baby up before I saw it = FATE.

This piece by kumar is outstanding the fit and finish is exceptional the blade shape shows the hand forging process and custom work add to the overall comfort and feel of this knife makes me one happy camper.

This is one piece that will never leave me, unless pried from my collection through supernatural forces.

Super cool! No top guard to get in the way but a bottom to keep from cutting your hand. Smart design!

Excellent. That was a rather unique one. I find the single guard quite appealing as well.

Great post, thank you for sharing

I would have gone for that one on behalf of a friend, but when he asked me to keep an eye out for one there were guardless ones around, and he specifically said he wanted the standard guard for his. So I am still watching for him.

Just about perfect. I think a 13" overall Cherokee Rose with a single guard would make a fine fighter. I absolutely adore my Rose. Bura-made back in 2005. But wow is it a sword of a bowie. One of my favorites, but it does a lot more sitting around than it deserves.

Congrats:)

Oh and I noticed that your Rose sports one of those cool faux frogs:D The old style scabbards used to have frogs like the khuks do. I first saw one of these purely decorative ones when my new AK Bowie arrived a week or so ago. Looks pretty cool:)

If I were a bear hunter or a pirate I'd get one of those for my carry :D
I like it  Enjoy the beauty beasty.

So about two inches longer than my medium Cherokee Rose. I'd go for that. An eight inch bladed Cherokee Rose would make one heck of a light-fighter Bowie. I still need a full-sized one though.

I am really glad your friend wanted a standard guard as this was what i have been looking for. :)

A real frog would be nice. I do like the design and stitching of the faux it is unique thats for sure. I think a 7 -10 inch would be very nice as well similar in size to a kabar with handmade aesthetics
