I won a $75 gift card to amazon from work. I'm wanting to put it toward a new knife. I can put maybe $50-$75ish extra in if the deal/knife really entices to me. I'm looking for a bigger knife with great steel. If you were in my shoes or have a blade that you really love let me know your suggestions.

So far my list of options are:
1-Spyderco Manix XL
2-Zero Tolerance ZT0350TS G10 Handle Folding Tiger Striped Blade
3-Benchmade Griptilian (already have a few but love them)
4-Benchmade Adams (bit expensive)

Thanks,

I like the ZT0350, mine is exclusive orange G10 with a satin finished blade. Great knife as are all Zero Tolerance models. Yours would be a great choice.

Manix or zt is the bestway to go thats closer to your gift card ammount. And like you said you have a few grips, you can get other knives in the mean time. And the adamas save up bit by bit like $20 every pay check or so then buy it, thats what im going to do for my manix 2 light weight translucent blue, df2 and sharpmaker---->$152. So the adamas can be a just because gift later on.

I don't have any experience with the Adamas. I like the Griptilian but you already have it. I've owned a ZT0350 for a few hours only and returned it because I didn't like it--YMMV. I own a lot of Spyderco knives but not the current Manix 2 models. I do own the original Manix (built like a bank vault) and my experience with Spyderco leads me to recommend their knives.

If you can come up with extra cash for about $150 total, I offer two others to consider. The ZT0550 is one of the better knives around based on build and blade steel (S35V). It's heavy and bulky though so don't buy it if the size and weight might bother you and you probably will need to break it in to be able to easily open it with the blade stud. The Spyderco Gayle Bradley is my current favorite and the One Knife I don't think I can do without. I've bought two for that reason. It's made with great non-stainless steel (M4) that will take on a light patina with use but mine refuses to rust--don't let the fact that it's not stainless worry you. The Bradley is a quirky knife that many do not like. It's not for flipping open and closed (you will probably need two hands to unlock the lock bar) and the choil location, blade shape and lack of a blade guard put off a lot of people. Despite all the quirks, it's about as perfect as one knife can be, in my quirky opinion.

That ZT0550 was a wonderful suggestion. I just ordered it! I'll let you know how I like it when it shows up.

Mail call:
Drum roll please.
........
I went with the ZT 0550 gen 2
I couldn't pass up the Rick Hinderer design, S35VN steel. I may have a new favorite knife in my collection.

Just a suggestion for next time. If you haven't been in to Blade HQ in Orem, UT ( I see your in SLC), you need to check them out.
The have it all and are great people. You can go in there and get a feel for the knife your looking for and handle it. When I'm in town I always stop in.

Definitely picked a good one. That and the 560 are commonly recommended, and for good reason.
