hello i was directed here and wanted to see if anyone has bought from the above seller.

they post about 5 to 7 axes of various models made by granfors bruks.

i pulled the trigger a bit hastily but at 120$ o felt it worth the risk.

anything to look outfor?

i will post some photos upon reciept.

thanks in advance.

Duluth Pack is a brick & mortar store that has been in Duluth since 1991. They're good guys. The company was started in 1870.

Thanks Bobs for the reply. I really appreciate it.

I was also told 120.00 is a realistic price. I had the false impression that the people asking 250-290 was the norm.

Half dozen G-B axes for $120 suspiciously strikes me as too good to be true; ie $20 each. Far as I know the least expensive ones (hatchets) tend to fetch in around $100 and the sky is the limit when it comes to axe-sized versions. Made in India cheapies of Hardware Chains list for $20-25 these days and may or may not even have a wood handle.

You certainly can't go wrong with any Gransfors Bruks model. I own a couple and have owned a half dozen in trying to find what fits my needs. I ended up with the American Felling axe and the Small Forest axe. The big axe is great for felling trees or clearing a section of tree from the middle of a trail. The small forest axe is perfect for delimbing those trees, and makes short work of kindling for the camp fire and splitting small logs. For Serious splitting in camp of large logs, I use the Fiskars X27 Splitting axe. The small also straps nicely to the side of my pack for excursions out in the woods that will last more than a day or two.
The prices at Duluth seem right in line with current pricing although you can find most of what they list for a few dollars less if you shop around. I'm not sure about the shipping charges.
I encourage you to spend a couple extra bucks to support a brick and mortar when able or possible.
Don't overlook House of Blades in Fort Worth, Texas. They carry a great selection of Gransfors and occasionally will have hard to find models. They are also BF members, you can contact them right here for questions, and the service is some of the best I've ever experienced, online or in person.
