Amber bone or bone stag?

Of late I've become quite enamored of the Case peanut. I love my yellow delrin handle one, but I was wondering if any of you have seen them in CV with the bone stag or amber bone scales?

I don't own one, but I much prefer the amber bone on other knives, especially if it has lots of color. A peanut seems to want a smoother handle than a bone-stag as well. Like the yellow for instance!

The Peanut isn't available in 6.5 Bonestag or Amber Bone in CV, but it is available in the new Red Bone in CV and in Yellow Delrin CV.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the red bone ones. :foot:

My r.b. Toothpick is due here Any Day Now. Can't wait to see if it's a "dark red" as the description says, or "fire engine red" as the pictures show.

Keep us posted on what color it is. I would'nt mind a deep red.

I handled some of the new Red CV 2 weeks ago in a store, they are definitely closed to "fire engine" than "dark".

I got it the other day. It's bright red, but the "valleys" of the jigging are darker. It's actually more attractive than I thought it would be, not as flat looking as the pictures show. And the blade was sharp as the dickens and chrome bright (yes, it's CV) right out of the box. Very nice job on that.

Nice little knife!

Case has some antique bone that looks and feels better then their stag. The really good stag is drawing a high premium from makers. I am not sure it is worth an extra "c" note unless it would be the popcorn variety. Bone lasts just fine. When my father passed he had a small case stockman I gave him for his 40th Birthday. It was still in good working order when I got it in 2001. He was born in 1913 .

They are both nice, but I like the bonestag a little better. You have to take into consideration that you can get, "pretty, and "ugly" in either handle material! Bone, no matter what jig pattern, dyed color, burnt color, etc. can differ! It's all in what you like, it's pretty much all "relative".
