I just finished this yesterday it is for Black Mamba or Jeff . Jeff ordered this knife at Blade he liked the steel in a big feather bowie that I had and he liked the handle on a little amber stag hunter I had. we talked and came up with this. 7 5/8. blade OAL12 1/2 wrought iron guard and butt cap with bronze spacer.

Dave - that absolutely rocks. No doubt your customer will be well pleased.

Absolutely beautiful Dave!! Love the hook in the plunge and how it mirrors the sweep of the guard into that lovely line of the lower part of the handle.
The combination clip/peaked spine is really nice too.

I'm going to have to come down and do a damascus course with you one day.

Love the edge too. ;)

That is most certainly a thing of beauty! Many great textures, done just right!

Great job Dave, that feather pattern sure has become popular and this piece is a prime example why, superb stag too.:thumbup:

Like the bronze spacer as well

Thank you all very much. I took one feather bowie to blade show it sold on the first day but the customer let me keep it on my table until he left on sunday I am glad he did because of the 4 orders I took 3 where for feather pattern blades. I like making this pattern and folks seem to like it. I would be a fool to not take at lest 2 to next years blade show . thanks again

I am just now seeing the pictures of the completed knife for the first time. Dave, you absolutely nailed it!

This is me right now: :D :p

I have purchased a dozen custom knives before this one, but this is the first one I had made up, the others were all bought "as is."

Dave Lisch is super. Great sense of humor, tons of talent, and just as good at communication. We had a fluid brainstorming at the BLADE show, coming up with the parameters of this knife. Dave was both instructive and a great listener. Several specific features of this fighter were at my request, and Dave incorporated them into the design without it looking "added on" or manipulated in any way. He emailed me pictures of 6 different stag rolls to choose the handle from, and then he ran with it. Just an awesome process, without a hitch or regret of any kind.

Thanks, too, to Jason Knight, who happened to be at the knife making school Dave runs in Seattle just as my blade was finished. Lorien had a good thread on that experience. I believe Jason had a few tips for Dave which only added to the finished product.

Anyone even thinking about ordering a knife from Dave Lisch should just do it--you'll be ultra pleased!

The damasc is great, and something about that bronze spacer in between all that damasc just seems to "make" the knife to me!

Thanks Jeff it will go out on tuesday it was a lot of fun making this knife for you.

Another beautiful feathe bowie Dave! And I completely agree about getting on Dave's list for one of his fine knives. I absolutely love the small feather bowie withe the self portrit buttcap he made for me. Now if I can just find time to make a kick butt sheath to go with it!
