I posted a couple of pieces I took to Reno over in the Gallery. Here is a third peice I had at the show.
This is a stretch version of my Tejas Model. The blade is 11" long, forged from W-2 and clay hardened. The pictures don't show it, but there is a nice hamon that turns back to cover the swedge as well. The handle is Amboyna burl, the guard is 416 stainless with 22k gold inlay. The inlay is subtle, but breaks up the vacancy on the guard sides. The pomel is damascus with gold inlay border. this knife has an octagon handle with index finger boss. Even with it's length, the balance point is about 1" in front of the guard. It feels very wieldy and quick for it's size.
This is becoming my favorite knife to make. My Father-in -law sums it up best with just a look. A normaly very happy-go-lucky man, he gets this devilish grin when he holds a knife like this.
