The "Hawthorne" is a standard pattern of mine, and this one has an
unusually well figured piece of Amboyna burl, and a couple of
improvements.
The ferrule is made from 3/8" SS, and the butt is enlarged for a
better grip.
Blade is 10" W2.

That's a terrific piece Russ. I saw rigth away the changes to the countouring of the handle and don't doubt they make an already great design that much better.

Doesn't get much better than that one, Russ.....another exceptional Bowie.

Thanks guys, your comments are much appreciated.
The pics dont show it, but the Hamon kicks back
the full length of the swedge, and is pretty active,
and done w/o clay.

I like big butts, and I cannot lie!:D
Your guards are always beautiful, and this knife is a great combination of very nice things.

I've seen that hamon on your other pieces and you have to angle it juuuuuust right, but there it is. Beauty!
