I have a seeming old Ameike knife that is a multi purpose knife with several different blades and tools. It is a very large knife (handle is 4-1/2" in length and 1-1/8" wide), and has a bone handle. I'm trying to find out some information on this knife. Other than some weathering, the knife is in great shape.

Anyone have anything on these knive?

I found a 8 blade Ameike utility knife with Cloverleaf Tang stamp, I can find no history behind the knife, or country of origin I've Been Told it has a manufacture date between 1875 and 1900. The handles are bone and have no chips or cracks. The knife condition overall is excellent. Any information that will bring closure to this would be appreciated, thank you

Ameike was a Japanese post WWII import brand. I once heard the name is a contraction of America and Ike (as in Eisenhower), but I can't prove it. I've never seen anymore on it, but the bone jigging, use of roughly finished brass, etc..... are all hallmarks of a post WWII Japanese knife (Late 40's - 70's usually).
