Amelia Earhart's knife

I thought some of you might find this interesting. I was reading about an expedition to an island where they think her remains may be located. They found a dismantled knife there. The link is http://tighar.org/Projects/Earhart/NikuVI/Niku6dailiesweek2.html I am not sure if the knife pictured is the same as the one she carried with her does anyone know the answer to this?

I had a read over that thread, interesting stuff. In the link I posted that have found more parts of the knife, in a currently running expedition. They have 3 of the bolsters now as well as the center liner. None of the blades though.

Interesting stuff.

My guess would be that whoever was stranded there (if it wasn't Eashart and/or Noonan it was somebody) determined that they would be able to make better use of the knife if it was broken apart. They may have made some sort of spear or any number of things.
